If your pet exhibits any of these common symptoms:

• Skin Lesions: Ringworm infections often present with circular, red, scaly, or raised lesions on the skin. These lesions may be itchy or painful.
• Hair Loss: Pets with ringworm may experience localized or generalized hair loss in the affected areas. The hair loss can create bald patches on the skin.
• Circular or Irregular Rashes: Ringworm rashes can vary in appearance but are often characterized by circular or irregular patterns on the skin.

PCR tests are exceptional because they detect very small amounts of genetic material from pathogens or abnormal cells, so a small sample is all that is needed to complete a lab test. A testing machine measures the amount of genetic material in the sample to determine how much of the pathogen or abnormal cell is present.  PCR tests are very accurate and sensitive for diagnosing diseases or finding genetic changes that can cause disease.
